Core to TEA MATE and Australian grown and curated, this one is from our home country and is sought after globally for it's unique aussie grown tea profile. Our tea is grown and picked using the same age old techniques first perfected in Japan in order to maintain it's authentic roots. This is a tea nurtured and brought to life by some very passionate Australian farmers.

The climate conditions in the southern alpine regions of Australia similarly mimic that of the conditions found in many of the traditional Japanese green tea farms. This mountainous grown green tea has notes of alpine gums, sweet and earthy grass, strong umami, nori and hints of chestnuts with a creamy texture and balanced astringency... and it's home grown in the mountains of Australia!

We love this tea as you can experiment with the evolving flavours - enjoy light and subtle or steep longer to bring out the robust flavour that is creamy and savoury.

Green Tea Health Benefits

Green tea is touted to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet due to it's high polyphenols, EGCG catechins and L-Theanine.

Green tea has been found to help with fat burning (Dulloo et al). Positive effects on body-weight management have also been shown in subjects who drink green tea, as the catechin may prevent development of obesity (Diepvens, Westerterp, and Westerterp-Plantenga).

Kurahashi et al suggest that green tea also contains a catechin (EGCG) known for it's high antioxidants and potential cancer-fighting characteristics.

Mancini et al presented evidence that green tea influences psychopathological symptoms (e.g. reduction of anxiety), cognition (e.g. benefits in memory and attention) and brain function (e.g. activation of working memory seen in functional MRI). Nathan and Oliver also found that green tea has anxiety-reducing properties.

Tea Ritual

1. Steep one heaped teaspoon per 250ml of water.
2. Add hot water (70-80°C) and let it hang for 1-3 minutes.
