Description
A sweet and spicy awakening of the senses. This avalanche of whole spices is soaked in rice malt syrup, is free from animal products and delivers a warm, fuzzy deliciousness that is highly addictive (you've been warned).
This blend picked up a Gold Medal in the Australian Golden Leaf Awards. It’s free from artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or animal-products. All we did was pick the finest organic black tea, then mix with peppery ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, aniseed (for that liquorice twang), turmeric, black peppercorns and salt. That’s it. Nothing but raw, 100% certified organic natural chai tea goodness.
Contains: Panela Sugar, Black Tea, Rice Malt Syrup, Star Anise, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Aniseed, Cardamom Pods, Ginger, Clove, Salt & Peppercorn
Chai tea is full of interesting and delicious ingredients and there's plenty of reasons to drink it. Cinnamon has been shown to help reduce the levels of total cholesterol, “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides by up to 30% (Khan et al).
Chai Tea may reduce blood sugar levels with it's ginger and cinnamon ingredients (Khandouzi et al). Chai tea is generally prepared with cow’s milk or soy milk, both of which are good sources of protein. Protein is a nutrient known to help reduce hunger and promote feelings of fullness. Aniseed is high in iron and manganese (US Department of Agriculture).
S. Hewlings and D Kalman note that Turmeric (otherwise known as curcumin) aids in the management of oxidative and inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, and hyperlipidemia.
Turmeric may also help in the management of exercise-induced inflammation and muscle soreness, thus enhancing recovery and performance in active people. Finally, Cardamom can effectively reduce blood pressure (Verma and Katewa).
