Tea mate was started by two friends who saw that tea didn't have to be with all the flowery branding, plastic tea bags and artificial flavours and colours. After one of the guys suffered post concussion syndrome from a snowboard accident and the doctor asked him to drink more tea, the health benefits and healing properties become clear. Couple the health with TEA MATE's co-founder wanting an alternative to coffee, tea started to become something before an xbox game, a backyard snowboard sesh, a conversation starter after a Saturday night. TEA MATE started with a true need to heal ourselves and has grown into a community of tea mates.

TEA MATE was started on the east coast of Australia by two mates who grew up together surfing, snowboarding and skating. One tea Mate location is in a small beach town called Cabarita Beach, NSW, Australia and the other is in the mountains of Tamborine Mountain, NSW, Australia.
