This 'Earl of House Grey' consists of high quality Australian Certified Organic, full bodied, black tea leaves from the humid Brahmuputra river valley in India, an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. To give it the legendary and iconic earl grey flavour, bergamot oil from the citrus fruit of Bergamo, Italy is added.
Although tied up in English folklore, earl grey tea was actually crafted by Chinese tea masters who blended black tea with bergamot. It was clear they created something special as sweet, floral and citrus flavours dance seamlessly with malty and full bodied black tea leaves. A global favourite for a reason, these flavours will stoke all your taste buds.
Interestingly, differnt regions enjoy earl grey in different ways. In England, they favour it with a thin slice of lemon; In South Africans they are partial to a caffeine-free Rooibos blend, and Parisians prefer a sprig of lavender.
